Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 1999-12-06 16:27:00 UTC Message No. 503 ******************************************************************************** Author: Van Husson, ILRS Central Bureau Subject: SOD and DOMES for SLRMail@dgfi.badw-muenchen.de; Mon, 6 Dec 1999 8:26:37 -0500 At the last ILRS Data Formats and Procedures Working Group Meeting held in Florence, Italy, we discussed the Site Occupation Designator (SOD) and Directory Of MERIT Sites (DOMES) Procedures. Both of these procedures are now on-line at can be found at http://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/sod.html and http://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/domes_and_domex.html , respectively. So as a reminder, if you are developing a new system (e.g. SLR2000 prototype) or if you are moving an existing system to a new location (e.g., MLRO), you need to do the following: 1. Request a SOD from Carey Noll at the CDDIS. 2. And if your station is occupying a new monument that has not been previously occupied, then you need to request a DOMES number from the International Earth Rotation Service (IERS). Van S.
