| Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 1999-12-29 22:35:00 UTC Message No. 514 ******************************************************************************** Author: Scott Wetzel Subject: ATSC/CDDIS Unavailability During the Holidays Dear Friends and Collegues, Goddard Space Flight Center has announced that they will be disconnecting our WAN ISOLAN Ethernet connection from 6:00 a.m. (EST) on Friday December 31, 1999 until 6:00 a.m. (EST)January 3, 2000. As a result, network traffic between the ATSC LAN and GSFC will stop, which means that Internet connectivity through GSFC will also stop. This means that any data transfer will not occur during this time from the CDDIS and the ATSC facilities. In addition, GSFC would like to test this configuration change over the Christmas Holiday. As a result, we will be disconnected from GSFC and the internet from 6:00 a.m. (EST) on Friday December 24, 1999 until 6:00 a.m. (EST)December 27, 1999. These shutdowns will obviously impact our ability to send or receive data or messages during those outages. We hope this will not impact your operations and apologize for any inconvenience.
