Dear Colleague: A number of the SLR stations are submitting their normal point data on a subdaily, or even hourly, schedule. The EDC, CDDIS, and HTSI have completed internal tests of hourly data flow and are now ready to make these updated data files available on an hourly basis. We request that all stations expedite their data delivery to either the EDC (ftp or email) or HTSI (ftp). If you cannot submit data hourly, then submit it every few hours. We need the most current data files in order to provide the best predictions available in the quickest possible manner. Our performance on some of the upcoming low orbiting missions will depend on a fast turnaround. In particular, we must have this procedure well in place in preparation for the launch of CHAMP in July. Also, current satellites that maneuver (GFO-1, ERS-2, GPS, Topex) would greatly benefit from faster receipt of normal points following maneuvers. Thank you for your cooperation, Mike Dr. Michael R.
