Gurtner Subject: Availability of Krytrons Dear colleagues, Peter Shelus sent me a mail regarding the fact that after July 31, 2000 EG&G will stop selling krytrons. ”Just talked with EG&G. We can order all the krytrons we want until 31 July 2000 for $375 each. After that, none available ” (Jerry Wiant) As chairman of the Network and Engineering Working Group I would like to give initial help in assessing the situation. Questions: Who is still using such krytrons in his laser system? Who knows about alternatives? At what costs? Who is interested in this subject? Who is interested in moderating a discussion about this topic? May I ask all interested parties to send me a short mail with answers to my questions above? --> E-mail: werner.gurtner@aiub.unibe.ch <-- I will then compile a mailing list and a collection of the answers and send the bunch to the moderator for further distribution and action. Best regards Werner From: gurtner@ubeclu.unibe.ch (WERNER GURTNER) ******************************************************************************** |
