Gurtner Subject: Dual-wavelength data from Zimmerwald Yesterday, on August 14, 2002 Zimmerwald started to submit normal point files containing dual-wavelength data independently collected by the two receivers: Wavelength 423 nm: Hamamatsu H 6533 Wavelength 846 nm: Hamamatsu H 7422P-50 The infrared receiver shows a single shot rms about twice the blue one (0.2 vs 0.1 ns) The two ranges are measured with two separate SR 620 counters. Although the two counters have been calibrated against the Herstmonceux reference it might be possible that the ranges still contain a differential range bias of a few millimeters between blue and infrared based on currently unknown system biases (in addition to the differential refraction, of course). May I ask the analysts to pay special attention to these two-wavelength data. Any feedback is very much appreciated. We will continue to observe and submit a subset of dual-wavelength passes on experimental basis although routine operation will remain single-color until further notice.
