The report consists of (A) a pass summary, (B) an overview of the analysis results, detailed statistics of the analysed measurements, and an accumulative pass overview and (C) the earth rotation parameter solutions submitted to IERS. The report is based on all quick-look data as received until Mon, Oct 7, 2002. Questions and comments should be addressed to: K.F. PASS SUMMARY The table below gives an overview of the ranging data both on LAGEOS-1 and LAGEOS-2, as received by the Quick-Look Data Analysis Center (QLDAC) on Mon, Oct 7, 2002. All data were obtained through the NASA Crustal Dynamics Data Information system (CDDIS) and the Eurolas Data Center (EDC) in Germany. The data are unscreened and may span more than a week due to late reporting by the stations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Station System/Location Period No. of Passes ID LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1864 Maidanak, Uzbekistan (site 2) 020923 - 021004 12 8 1873 Simeiz, Crimea, Ukraine 021003 - 021003 1 1 1884 Riga, Latvia 021002 - 021004 3 - 1893 Kazivili, Crimea, Ukraine 020930 - 020930 1 1 7080 McDonald Obs., Fort Davis, TX 020930 - 021006 8 7 7090 Yarragadee, Australia 021001 - 021006 9 13 7105 Greenbelt, Maryland 020929 - 021006 16 8 7110 Monument Peak, California 021001 - 021007 16 12 7124 Papeete, Tahiti 021002 - 021004 - 3 7210 Haleakala Obs., Maui, Hawaii 020930 - 021007 8 9 7237 Changchun, China 020930 - 021002 5 3 7403 Arequipa, Peru (TLRS-3) 021001 - 021007 1 4 7405 Concepcion, Chile (TIGO) 020929 - 020929 - 1 7806 Metsahovi, Finland 021001 - 021003 3 - 7824 San Fernando, Spain 021003 - 021007 4 3 7832 Riyad, Saudi Arabia 020930 - 021007 7 2 7835 Grasse, France 020930 - 021003 3 2 7836 Potsdam, Germany 020930 - 021001 2 2 7837 Shanghai Observatory, China 021004 - 021007 3 - 7838 Simosato Observatory, Japan 021005 - 021005 1 1 7839 Graz, Austria 020930 - 021002 12 9 7840 Herstmonceux, United Kingdom 020930 - 021007 14 10 7845 Grasse, France (LLR) 020930 - 021001 2 - 7849 Mount Stromlo, Australia 021001 - 021006 5 4 8834 Wettzell, Germany 020930 - 021007 10 7 ------ ------ --- --- TOTAL 020923 - 021007 146 110 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B. ANALYSIS RESULTS The analysis is based on two orbit solutions using global quick-look normal points that cover a period of 10 days which are computed simultaneously. This week´s data interval runs from Thu, Sep 26, 2002 to Sun, Oct 6, 2002. The measurement and dynamic models used in this analysis are close to the IERS Standard. The overall model is referred to as QLDACMOD9. The details of this model can be obtained on request. The terrestrial reference frame is provided by a special version of the SSC(DUT) 93L05 station coordinates solution. The general statistics and results of this week´s analysis are thus: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Satellite LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 Number of Stations 0 0 Number of Passes 0/ 0 0/ 0 Number of Normal Points 0/ 0 0000/ 0 RMS of Fit (mm) 0 0 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Residual statistics per station. The header line for each station shows the station id, its name, whether the position is solved for or not and the measurement accuracy in mm. Rejected observations are not used for the calculation of the rms-of-fit, the biases or the scatter. The latter holds w.r.t. the residual trend line described by the bias estimates. Uncertainties are 3-sigma values. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Time Sat. Obs. EARTH ROTATION PARAMETER SOLUTIONS FOR IERS The following solutions for the polar motion and the UT1-UTC time difference were also obtained in the 10-day data arc analysis described in the previous section. Only solutions submitted to IERS are presented here. D. COMMENTS 1. This is a QLDAC analysis report in a new style. Although our old report served quite well for observation campaigns, we have received many requests to adjust our report to the current situation (i.e. a permanent global SLR network with few mobile systems), and to spend more attention to the quality of the data taken by the global network. The most important element of the report is the table with statistics for each individual data pass. Although the numbers will speak for themselves, we must give a warning here that some of you may be disappointed to see that their station appears to be suffering from a data problem. However, we are using a model for station positions that is already 7 years old, and which may be responsible for errors in the station position in the order of 1-5 cm. We intend to introduce a new coordinates solution in the course of this millennium. Readers of this report are invited to provide us suggestions for further improvements. 2. This week´s batch of QL data included observations of a new SLR station in Lviv, Ukraine (1831, DOMES number 12368S001). Further information can be obtained from the station log sheet at the ILRS web pages. ”/DGFI3/home/slreport/mbox” complete From: Ron Noomen ******************************************************************************** |
