The report consists of (A) a pass summary, (B) an overview of the analysis results, detailed statistics of the analysed measurements, and an accumulative pass overview and (C) the earth rotation parameter solutions submitted to IERS. The report is based on all quick-look data as received until Mon, Sep 4, 2000. Questions and comments should be addressed to: K.F. Wakker Delft University of Technology Faculty of Aerospace Engineering Delft Institute for Earth-Oriented Space Research Kluyverweg 1 NL-2629 HS Delft The Netherlands Telephone: +31-(0)15-2782065/2785377 Telefax : +31-(0)15-2785322 E-mail : ron.noomen@deos.tudelft.nl A. PASS SUMMARY The table below gives an overview of the ranging data both on LAGEOS-1 and LAGEOS-2, received by the Quick-Look Data Analysis Center (QLDAC) on Tue, Sep 5, 2000. All data were obtained through NASA Crustal Dynamics Data Information system (CDDIS) and the Eurolas Data Center (EDC) in Germany. The data are unscreened and may span more than a week due to late reporting by the stations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Station System/Location Period No. of Passes ID LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1864 Maidanak, Uzbekistan (site 2) 000820 - 000906 5 2 1873 Simeiz, Crimea, Ukraine 000831 - 000831 1 - 1884 Riga, Latvia 000902 - 000902 1 - 7080 McDonald Obs., Fort Davis, TX 000831 - 000907 7 15 7090 Yarragadee, Australia 000904 - 000907 8 5 7105 Greenbelt, Maryland 000901 - 000907 3 4 7110 Monument Peak, California 000831 - 000907 6 5 7124 Papeete, Tahiti 000831 - 000907 7 13 7231 Wuhan, China (new) 000830 - 000903 3 1 7237 Changchun, China 000901 - 000905 1 1 7249 Beijing, China 000831 - 000906 4 - 7339 Tateyama, Japan 000904 - 000907 1 1 7403 Arequipa, Peru (TLRS-3) 000831 - 000907 4 5 7501 Hartebeesthoek, SA (MOB-6) 000831 - 000901 - 3 7806 Metsahovi, Finland 000830 - 000907 3 - 7810 Zimmerwald, Switzerland 000824 - 000907 10 8 7811 Borowiec, Poland 000904 - 000904 1 - 7824 San Fernando, Spain 000828 - 000907 8 7 7831 Helwan, Egypt 000907 - 000907 1 - 7835 Grasse, France 000829 - 000905 3 6 7836 Potsdam, Germany 000901 - 000901 1 - 7837 Shanghai Observatory, China 000831 - 000905 4 3 7838 Simosato Observatory, Japan 000902 - 000903 2 - 7839 Graz, Austria 000829 - 000906 8 4 7840 Herstmonceux, United Kingdom 000829 - 000907 24 15 7845 Grasse, France (LLR) 000829 - 000904 2 3 7849 Mount Stromlo, Australia 000828 - 000906 29 26 7939 Matera, Italy 000902 - 000907 3 - 8834 Wettzell, Germany 000829 - 000904 5 4 ------ ------ --- --- TOTAL 000820 - 000907 155 131 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B. ANALYSIS RESULTS The analysis is based on two orbit solutions using global quick-look normal points that cover a period of 10 days which are computed simultaneously. This week´s data interval runs from Thu, Aug 24, 2000, to Sat, Sep 2, 2000. The measurement and dynamic models used in this analysis are close to the IERS Standard. The overall model is referred to as QLDACMOD9. The details of this model can be obtained on request. The terrestrial reference frame is provided by a special version of the SSC(DUT) 93L05 station coordinates solution. The general statistics and results of this week´s analysis are thus: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Satellite LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 Number of Stations 27 20 Number of Passes 164/164 113/113 Number of Normal Points 1645/1617 1108/1090 RMS of Fit (mm) 34 27 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Residual statistics per station. The header line for each station shows the station ID, its name, whether the position is solved for or not and the measurement accuracy in mm. Rejected observations are not used for the calculation of the rms-of-fit, the biases or the scatter. The latter holds w.r.t. the residual trend line described by the bias estimates. Bias uncertainties are 3 sigma values. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Time Sat. Obs. EARTH ROTATION PARAMETER SOLUTIONS FOR IERS The following solutions for the polar motion and the UT1-UTC time difference were also obtained in the 10-day data arc analysis described in the previous section. Only solutions submitted to IERS are presented here. -------------------------------------------------------------- DATE X Y UT1-UTC (YYMMDD.D) (MAS) (MAS) (MS) -------------------------------------------------------------- 827.0 56.1 +/- 0.1 243.0 +/- 0.1 -31802.53 +/- 0.01 830.0 51.9 +/- 0.1 243.3 +/- 0.2 -31804.71 +/- 0.02 -------------------------------------------------------------- Comments: 1. This is a QLDAC analysis report in a new style. Although our old report served quite well for observation campaigns, we have received many requests to adjust our report to the current situation (i.e. a permanent global SLR network with few mobile systems), and to spend more attention to the quality of the data taken by the global network. The most important element of the report is the table with statistics for each individual data pass. Although the numbers will speak for themselves, we must give a warning here that some of you may be disappointed to see that their station appears to be suffering from a data problem. However, we are using a model for station positions that is already 5 years old, and which may be responsible for errors in the station position in the order of 1-5 cm. We intend to introduce a new coordinates solution in the course of this millennium. Users of this report are invited to give suggestions for further improvements. ”/DGFI3/home/slreport/mbox” complete From: Ron Noomen ******************************************************************************** |
