The report consists of (A) a pass summary, (B) an overview of the analysis results, detailed statistics of the analysed measurements, and an accumulative pass overview and (C) the earth rotation parameter solutions submitted to IERS. The report is based on all quick-look data as received until Mon, May 8, 2000. Questions and comments should be addressed to: K.F. PASS SUMMARY The table below gives an overview of the ranging data both on LAGEOS-1 and LAGEOS-2, received by the Quick-Look Data Analysis Center (QLDAC) on Tue, May 9, 2000. All data were obtained through NASA Crustal Dynamics Data Information system (CDDIS) and the Eurolas Data Center (EDC) in Germany. The data are unscreened and may span more than a week due to late reporting by the stations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Station System/Location Period No. of Passes ID LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1864 Maidanak, Uzbekistan (site 2) 000426 - 000430 1 3 1884 Riga, Latvia 000429 - 000505 - 6 7080 McDonald Obs., Fort Davis, TX 000502 - 000508 7 6 7090 Yarragadee, Australia 000501 - 000508 18 13 7105 Greenbelt, Maryland 000502 - 000508 5 10 7110 Monument Peak, California 000502 - 000508 11 12 7237 Changchun, China 000501 - 000507 - 5 7249 Beijing, China 000429 - 000506 - 8 7335 Kashima, Japan 000503 - 000508 4 - 7337 Miura, Japan 000503 - 000508 2 - 7339 Tateyama, Japan 000503 - 000508 6 - 7403 Arequipa, Peru (TLRS-3) 000503 - 000503 1 1 7806 Metsahovi, Finland 000506 - 000506 - 1 7810 Zimmerwald, Switzerland 000430 - 000505 2 6 7811 Borowiec, Poland 000429 - 000505 - 6 7824 San Fernando, Spain 000504 - 000504 1 1 7835 Grasse, France 000429 - 000503 2 6 7836 Potsdam, Germany 000428 - 000504 1 6 7837 Shanghai Observatory, China 000502 - 000507 3 10 7838 Simosato Observatory, Japan 000501 - 000501 - 1 7839 Graz, Austria 000503 - 000503 3 2 7840 Herstmonceux, United Kingdom 000429 - 000507 13 8 7845 Grasse, France (LLR) 000502 - 000503 2 1 7849 Mount Stromlo, Australia 000430 - 000506 1 5 7939 Matera, Italy 000504 - 000504 - 1 8834 Wettzell, Germany 000501 - 000507 9 9 ------ ------ --- --- TOTAL 000426 - 000508 92 127 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ B. ANALYSIS RESULTS The analysis is based on two orbit solutions using global quick-look normal points that cover a period of 10 days which are computed simultaneously. This week´s data interval runs from Thu, Apr 27, 2000, to Sat, May 6, 2000. The measurement and dynamic models used in this analysis are close to the IERS Standard. The overall model is referred to as QLDACMOD9. The details of this model can be obtained on request. The terrestrial reference frame is provided by a special version of the SSC(DUT) 93L05 station coordinates solution. The general statistics and results of this week´s analysis are thus: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Satellite LAGEOS-1 LAGEOS-2 Number of Stations 21 25 Number of Passes 119/118 151/150 Number of Normal Points 1160/1143 1886/1842 RMS of Fit (mm) 33 40 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Residual statistics per station. The header line for each station shows the station ID, its name, whether the position is solved for or not and the measurement accuracy in mm. Rejected observations are not used for the calculation of the rms-of-fit, the biases or the scatter. The latter holds w.r.t. the residual trend line described by the bias estimates. Bias uncertainties are 3 sigma values. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Time Sat. Obs. This is a QLDAC analysis report in a new style. Although our old report served quite well for observation campaigns, we have received many requests to adjust our report to the current situation (i.e. a permanent global SLR network with few mobile systems), and to spend more attention to the quality of the data taken by the global network. The most important element of the report is the table with statistics for each individual data pass. Although the numbers will speak for themselves, we must give a warning here that some of you may be disappointed to see that their station appears to be suffering from a data problem. However, we are using a model for station positions that is already 5 years old, and which may be responsible for errors in the station position in the order of 1-5 cm. We intend to introduce a new coordinates solution in the course of this millennium. Users of this report are invited to give suggestions for further improvements. ”/DGFI3/home/slreport/mbox” complete From: Ron Noomen ******************************************************************************** |
